OJB Candle Night Holds Today,The Day He Would Have Turned 50.

Today July 4, 2016, Nigerian music producer, Babatunde Okungbowa aka OJB Jezreel would have clocked 50. Sadly he died on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 and his final burial rites will now commence today starting with a candle light procession at his residence in Surulere, Lagos.

My sweet Christabel

It was 6pm; when we drove past the toll gate...
Heading towards the beach elegushi,
Loud music filled the evening air...
I think brymo's truthfully was on repeat as we journeyed not knowing what evil lurked ahead.
Even though beauty lies in the beholders eyes,
Christabel is a damsel; yes! She is and will always be.
I met Christabel at the singles activities and as time went by, we grew fonder.
And ever since then she has been a part of my blue print.
No day ever starts without the thoughts of my sweet Christabel.
Her glittering ebony skin radiated light,
A special kind that's hard to find.

We got entangled on the random twist of time,
And finally found ourselves maneuvering the waves like dolphins in love,
When all of a sudden my sweet Christabel was out of sight,
She had been dragged away by the waves and I wasn't the best swimmer though.
I raced back and forth searching for a lifebuoy and finally found one,
I got back in the cold water and swam towards her and put the bouy on her.

When the next wave came crashing on us like a tornado,
I was taken along with it...
But my sweet Christabel was safe and still in shape and that was all that mattered at the moment.
With no rescue around, I knew it was the end for me...
Trying to look at the shore, all I could hear was the melodious voice of my sweet Christabel as she wailed.
As she wailed; tears filled my eyes,
I won't see her again, the softness of skin I won't feel anymore...
Will someone else replace me in her heart?
These were the thoughts that filled my dying soul.
I gave up my life for the one I love;
Love... Look what you made me do!
