Poetic Corner with Victor Egbune

The world,
A place of past, future and present
Where each piece is wrapped up in everything else
Shells on a beach
Opportunities, those that fall away from smallness
The Jewels in the greater scheme
of sand
The countless Grains lain out before us
Broken down from shells by the cool, steady, repetitious stroking waves of time
Equal Importance, most vast in number
harder to keep track of.
We mold glass balls of hope from these grains
So like the rest of the world
Beholden bits of sameness melted together from what surrounds
Yet so fragile
The same sun that warms the beach
Can sear the glass
And all things pass
The cooling shadow of clouds only temporary
But the image
The landscape
Never passes away
The omnipresent hug of the creator
